TIPS FOR FINDING THE PERFECT SPOT FOR OUTDOOR PHOTOS…

We’ve been known for years for our amazing studio photos, but that doesn’t mean we can share some tips for finding the perfect outdoor location for you to create your own amazing images.

Tip 1: Boring is Best
Choose a location that’s wide enough for your group and has a simple, uncluttered background. A stretch of bush, paddock, or beach with a uniform look is ideal. Avoid anything in the background that might pull focus from your subjects – the more boring the background, the better your people will shine.

Tip 2: Look for the Light
Pop someone in place and check how the light falls on their face. Are there deep shadows under the eyes or nose? Are they squinting? These are signs that it’s too bright. Try moving into the shade, waiting for cloud cover, or coming back later in the day when the light is softer and more flattering.

Tip 3: Adventure and Interaction
Great locations invite movement and play. Look for natural features like a log to sit on or jump off, a fence to lean against, sand to play with, or a wide open space for running and racing. These simple elements help create genuine connection and fun in your photos.
