HOW TO CARE FOR PHOTOS ~ part 5

When doing it for yourself; make sure that whoever is printing your snapshots uses paper and inks that are ‘archival’, that the frame you choose is acid and lignin free, ideally pH neutral, and that your artwork is kept in the right environment. Because you deserve quality for all your precious taonga.

Bonus tip #5
Prints will always outlast digital files. It is not unusual to have a printed photograph or negative that is over 100 years old, but it is unlikely that any digital file will reach that age without corrupting, being lost or damaged, technology becoming obsolete, or being accidentally overwritten. Always print your photos and remember: “A print turns an image into a story that lasts generations.”
