“It was only 2,536 days Jeda Lauren lived in total. Not many hours, but she made them all count.

This picture captured time and, for that moment… click… time stood still.

I remember the live interactive event at Rust Ave photo studio in Whangārei. There were too many clothes to try on, too many mirrors to indulge, too many poses. What image will work today?

I remember seeing what Jeda was thinking, even in her weakened, skinny body. Jeda knew what today was all about. It was never voiced. But Mummy knew she knew.

It was the lasting brand Jeda was going to leave on the world:

‘Yes, I did live here for a while.’

What a legacy to accomplish in such a short time frame.

Within two weeks she was bedridden. It would have been too late had we waited. The timing that day was perfect.
